Examining the Relationship between Survival Time and Time-dependent Covariables Using the Phsplm Procedure

چکیده
The PHSPLM procedure describes survival data using a. parametric proportional hazards model where the baseline hazard is a eubic spline function with tails that are linearly restricted. Herndon (1988) has propooed this flexible hazard modd 8$ an alternative to the Cox model (1972). Properties of this model include: efficiency of estimation of cavariable coefficients and survival probabilities, smooth survival curves, and ~nfidence limits for survival and hazard estimates, even when cavanables are time-dependent. In addition, it has been sh{)wn that the use of the restricted cubic spline model when examining the erred of time-dependent covariables can :reduce computation time by a factor of 213 over that of the Cox mooel. The pnSPLM procedure can fit the homogeneous restricted cubic spline model, ignoring covariables; and also, the model adjusted for fixed ~(lvariables and/or time-dependent covariables. The implementation of the PHSPLM procedure is similar to the PHGLM procedure {Harrell, 1986). Features i.nclude those mentioned above, in addition to those included in the PHGLM prowdure. The use of the PHSPLM procedure will be demonstrated and contrasted against analytical results obtained fiom BMDP (Di:lOOn, 1981).

Examining Effective Factors on Duration Time of Recommitment Using Cox's Proportional Hazard Model
Abstract. Recently, in most of scientific studies, the use of survival analysis is performed for examining duration time models. One of the important applications of survival analysis is the study of recommitment crime in criminology which has not yet been considered in Iran. So, with attention to the necessity and importance of predicting recommitment time and the analysis of duration model...
متن کاملThe Effect of Time-dependent Prognostic Factors on Survival of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer using Bayesian Extended Cox Model
Abstract Background: Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers around the world. The aim of this study was to use Extended Cox Model (ECM) with Bayesian approach to survey the behavior of potential time-varying prognostic factors of Non-small cell lung cancer. Materials and Methods: Survival status of all 190 patients diagnosed with Non-Small Cell lung cancer referring to hospitals in ...
متن کاملA Time Dependent Pollution Routing Problem in Multi-graph
This paper considers a time dependent(the travel time is not constant throughout the day) pollution routing problem (TDPRP), which aids the decision makers in minimizing travel time, toll cost and emitted pollution cost. In complexity of urban areas most of the time one point is accessible from another with more than one edge. In contrast to previous TDPRP models, which are designed with only ...
متن کاملA Rapidly Convergent Nonlinear Transfinite Element Procedure for Transient Thermoelastic Analysis of Temperature-Dependent Functionally Graded Cylinders
In the present paper, the nonlinear transfinite element procedure recently published by the author is improved by introducing an enhanced convergence criterion to significantly reduce the computational run-times. It is known that transformation techniques have been developed mainly for linear systems, only. Due to using a huge number of time steps, employing the conventional time integration me...
متن کاملThe relationship between Structural risk and Expected return of sukuk
Sukuk is the most important Islamic financial securities designed based on Islamic laws, and the relationship between risk and return is the most basic concept in Islamic finance. The results of examining and comparing the similarities between bonds and sukuk show that the most important difference between these two financing tools is the type of asset backed by sukuk and the type of asset cont...
